摘要

According to a recent FBI survey, the financial losses in 2002 from Internet-related-attacks equal over 455 Million Dollars. With the Internet dependability increasing, and the cyber population constantly growing the impact of cyber-attacks on web-server systems become more and more significant. In this paper we discuss a theoretical model we call the FDS Model. The FDS Model layered approach to handing inbound traffic is specially designed for DOS Attacks and Flash-Crowds effect mitigation and improving overall network performance. The purpose of this paper is to explore the capabilities of the FDS Model to create an architectural design for web-servers systems to manage inbound network traffic along with a protocol for updating and optimizing the architectural parameters based on forensic and efficiency analysis.
