The sound emitted from a copy machine under operation is recorded and analyzed fromthe view point of sound quality. Two types of sounds emitted from a copy machine weretested for better impression. One is the sound emitted from the copy machine inside forspreading and flattening the toner inside. The other one is the sound emitted when thecover of the opening area for paper output is vibrating. In order to improve subjectiveimpression on the sounds, the treatment of the time wave form and the reduction of theduration and peak to peak values through the decaying process have significant effects.
