A DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM OF BANKNOTE SPEAKER DEVICE FOR BLIND PEOPLE

The way of living for the blind in their daily livesrnnowadays seems to be very difficult. For example, theyrnhave difficulties in completing transactions involvingrnmoney, as it is difficult for them to distinguish therndifferences between banknotes. At present there’s norndevice to assist them. One result is the blind are oftenrncheated by others. This research presents a device thatrnwill be used for telling the denomination of banknotes tornthe blind with voice, and includes making voice when arncounterfeit banknote is detected. It is inexpensive andrneasily portable. This device consists of 4 main systems,rnthe first system classifies the denomination of banknote,rnthe second system detects the counterfeit banknotes, thernthird system processes the data and the last systemrnproduces the voice. The system measures the length ofrnbanknote to classify denominations. To detect counterfeitrnbanknote, the system uses the reflection of ultravioletrnlight operating from a black light bulb to detect therndifferences of the counterfeit banknotes from the genuinernbanknotes. The proposed device has been used for thernexperiment with Thai banknotes with 90% accuracy inrnclassifying the banknotes and 100% accuracy in detectingrnthe invented counterfeit banknotes.
