International IT Transfer in Multinational Corporations

Multinational Corporations (MNCs) compete in arndynamic environment that calls for process integrationrnand leverage of resources. MNCs require maximizingrnflexibility and local responsiveness, while maintainingrncontrol and integration. The appropriate globalrnmanagement of Information Technologies (IT) may aid inrnthis endeavor by fostering the transfer of valuable IT,rnresulting in the reduction of development effortsrnduplication. Few research works have focused on the ITrntransfer process across national borders. Even fewer do sornwithin the boundaries of organizations, rather thanrnbetween firms. This research explores the factors thatrndetermine the extent to which subsidiaries of MNCs adoptrnusable IT that was developed at headquarters, thusrnfostering integration and leveraging the developmentrnresources.
