Nowadays, the field of tight control loops, characterizedrnby hard real-time constraints (loop frequency > 1 kHz)rnin conjunction with complex algorithmic needs,rncurrently lacks a microprocessor allowing to make arnsoftware programmable approach economically andrntechnically viable. The control of electro-mechanicalrnactuators is an example of target application.rnA dedicated space-hardened microprocessor, calledrnControl Loop Processor (CLP), is currently underrndevelopment - with the tight collaboration of ESArnTEC/ED - and integrates several key features ensuringrna fully deterministic behaviour as well as an embeddedrnrobustness/anomaly management in conjunction withrnvectorial IEEE-754 floating-points operations.
