Computational performance-based building designrnsupport faces a conflict. It is important to providernbuilding performance feed back to the designer asrnearly as possible in the design process. But manyrnaspects of building performance are significantlyrnaffected by the design of the building's technicalrnsystems, which are typically configured in detail onlyrnin the later stages of design. The challenge is thusrnfinding a method to use detailed simulation toolsrneven during the early stages of design when valuesrnfor many of the variables for the building's technicalrnsub-systems are not yet available. In this paper, wernoffer a solution that involves differential modeling,rnhomology-based mapping, and generative designrnagents. To demonstrate the feasibility of the proposedrnsolution, we conclude the paper with illustrativernexamples of detailed performance analysis ofrncomplex buildings and their systems, in the earlyrnstages of design.
