摘要

A theoretical and experimental study on manual-locking deployable-collapsible structures is presented in this paper. The geometrical formulas for expanding and folding of this kind of new structures were derived, and the conditions for forming of stable systems were given. In the meantime, a few patterns of joints that are suit for the special requirement were designed. Considering each bar is supported at three points, the static analysis method was studied and a special computer program was drawn up. To investigate the mechanical characteristic of deployable-collapsible structures and to examine the computation method, a 2.0m × 2.0m model test was carried out. Good agreement is obtained between the experiment results and analytical study by using the computer program given in this paper.
