Bounded Rationality, Formal Implementation Processes, and ConflictingSubcultures: A Theoretical Framework

This paper develops a theoretical framework forrnstudying how the interaction of individual perceptions, anrnorganizations’ subcultures, and formal informationrnsystems (IS) design processes influence the fit of an IS tornits respective organization. Building on models ofrnindividual decision making, such as bounded rationality,rnit extends several propositions for how informal andrnformal structures influence the fit of an IS.
