Therapy with preparations of Ginkgo fruits can be traced back to the origins of Chinese herbal medicine,i.e.,to about 5,000 years ago. In Germany a simple extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves was first registered by the company Dr.Willmar SCHWABE,in 1965.The products were introduced into the market under the trade name Tebonin as drops and sugar-coated tablets.
