The great potential of economic benefits of EDI application in the business logistics has been widely accepted by both business and academic communities. The strategic implications of EDI are also increasingly recognized. Regarding EDI as a "cooperative interorganizational information system" and a kind of "value adding partnership", a variety of competitive advantage associated with EDI has been identified.
