Wavelet-Based Compression of CFD Big Data

摘要

A new approach for compression of CFD data is presented, inspired by image processing. It uses wavelet decom-rnposition and subsequent range coding with quantization suitable for roating-point data. The electiveness of thisrnmethod is demonstrated by applying it to the velocity feld of a turbulent vortex row past a cylinder.
