A series of catalysts were prepared by a standard impregnation method starting fromrnNi(NH_3)_2.6H_2O and Cu(NH_3)_2.3H_2O aqueous solutions at different concentrations of thernmetals. The characterization was mainly done to get information about the morphology andrndistribution of metal crystallites in the catalyst. For characterization were used differentrntechniques, such as SEM, EDX, TPR, TGA and BET. To understand the chemical changesrnof copper and nickel nitrates during calcinations thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) werernused to observe that the decomposition of nickel and copper nitrates to the respectivernoxides were completed above 673K. It was also observed a higher interaction betweenrnmetal and support for the alumina than the silica support.
