Baseline Calculation When Weight Loss Processes Take Place

In this work, a method to calculate the baseline when weight loss processes take place isrnpresented. Such method combines the information obtained by subtraction of overlapped TGArnprocesses with the simultaneous heat flow signal obtained in a Simultaneous Thermal Analyzer.rnOnce a single TGA curve was obtained for each component of the sample, thermal parametersrnsuch as specific heat and enthalpy of vaporization can be combined with the instantaneousrnweight loss in order to subtract the heat of this component from the DSC baseline. In this paperrnthe model was applied to water evaporation in forest litter samples.
