For wireless multihop networks, various locationdependentrnrouting protocols in which a destination of arnmessage is specied by its location have been proposed.rnBy combination of these routing protocols and a methodrnwhich keeps location-dependent information in its speciedrnarea, a low overhead method for storing and retrievingrnlocation-dependent information is realized. In our proposedrnmethod, the following three areas are determined forrneach location-dependent information; information maintainingrnarea in which the location-dependent information isrnrequired to be kept, information forwarding area in whichrnmobile wireless nodes forward the location-dependent informationrnto its neighbor mobile wireless nodes and informationrnholding area only in which mobile wireless nodesrnhold the location-dependent information. In addition to thernabove three areas, we also propose three different conditionsrnfor each mobile wireless node to forward locationdependentrninformation to its neighbors. By various combinationrnof the determination of these areas and the forwardingrnconditions, it is possible for wireless multihop networksrnto achieve tradeoff among communication overheadrnfor transmission of location-dependent information, storagernoverhead in mobile wireless nodes and availability ofrnthe location-dependent information.
