Research on Emergency Management Mechanism against Typhoon Disaster: A Case Study of Typhoon No.0604 'Bilis'

The southeast coast of China is one of the most vulnerable areas to typhoon disasters, which causes billions of economic losses and heavy casualties each year. Therefore, study on emergency management against typhoon disasters has drawn great attention from the government and the academia. This paper analyzes emergency management mechanism against typhoon disaster in China, and typhoon No.0604 "Bilis" is chosen as a typical case analysis of emergency response plans and precautions. The analysis shows that Zhejiang Province has established a complete emergency system, which can be served as a model for the improvement of the government's work. Finally, some suggestions are made to improve emergency management against typhoon disasters in China.
