How Could Engineers Strive for MDG?

摘要

An analysis is given, first to make clear the unique role that engineering should play in economic and social development. And a review on engineering revolution both in time domain and space domain follows to indicate the features in contemporary engineering. Based on the analysis and review given above, the task of how engineers should strive for the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) is then discussed. The suggestive conclusion is that engineering on the whole should actively combine its special means with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and also closely cooperate within and outside the profession for better implementation of MDG and the sustainable information society.
