Many children with special needs have difficulty learningrnand counting money. One area of human-computerrninteraction that has not been explored is the combination ofrncoin counting with a haptic device that allows the studentsrnto independently work with virtual money. This initialrnstudy focuses on the steps of determining if learning canrnoccur with the aid of a haptic device through a case study.rnBy applying a variety of techniques associated with thernhaptic device, the subject’s time and rate of errorrndecreased. The results show that utilizing a haptic devicernhelps the subject retain skills learned and improvernperformance over a series of questions and applications.
