Some call it low power-design, some call it energy efficient design, and some call it green design. No matter what you call it, in today's complex systems and chips, power management, analysis, and exploration needs to be addressed early in the design cycle. To meet the overall power demands semiconductor designers and architects need to step up and deliver systems and chips that are "lean" and "green". Devices should be as small in form as possible, offer greater performance and lower overall power consumption. Design teams need power aware solutions and methods that enable them to intelligently identify peaks and analyze power consumption to make necessary trade-offs.
