The mathematical basis of separation technology has notrnbeen fully exploited. The variety of methods within thisrnfield specific to medical diagnostics lends itself tornapplication of both mathematical and physicalrncomputation techniques in an attempt to define andrnexplore viable diagnostic configurations. Morernspecifically, the application of such computation for therndevelopment of immunodiagnostics is presented. Use ofrnparamagnetic and non-magnetic tracers bound tornrespective immunologic agents has shown potential as arnplatform. This work also illustrates that such a methodrncan also permit quantitative evaluation of the speciesrnunder study via measurement of electrical resistance ofrnthe media employed in the diagnostic configuration. Anrnexperiment was conducted to examine the viability ofrnsuch a method and resulted in a detection level less thanrn0.9ng/ml in the case of Chlamydia trachomatis antigen.rnUse of resistance measurements resulted in a detectionrnlimit of 0.5ng/ml under the same experimental conditions.
