摘要

Three different treatments were tested to eradicate contaminants from the excised shoot tips of sugarcane of three different varieties viz., Co 86032, Co 99004 and CoN 05071. Impressive results (66 to 73%) were obtained as the survival % was 66% in Co 86032, 73% in Co 99004 and 66% in CoN 05071 with the treatment containing Carbendazim lOOOppm, Mencozeb lOOOppm and Streptocycline 500ppm. The various methods investigated and the successful rates of decontamination of sugarcane shoot tip may have wider application in other plant tissue culture system with known persistant contamination.
