Characteristic parameters variations of the marine high pressure common rail (MHPCR) fuel system will influence injection characteristics and lead to fluctuation of cycle fuel injection quantity fluctuation (CFIQ).The cycle fuel injection quantity fluctuation (CFIQF) will worsen the coherence and stability of the MHPCR system.The influence law and the generation mechanism of CFIQF caused by variations of characteristic parameters are studied in the paper.The numerical model of the MHPCR system was developed in AMESim environment.The model's accuracy has been validated by experiment results obtained from MHPCR test bench.The CFIQF caused by the variations of different characteristic parameters has been deeply analyzed by the numerical model.The analysis results show that the maximum CFIQF caused by fuel return pressure,armature residual clearance,solenoid pre-tightening force,outlet orifice diameter,inlet orifice diameter,needle lift,needle pre-tightening force and control plunger matching clearance are 0.6mm3,6.9mm3,11.7mm3,14.7mm3,15 mm3,8.5 mm3,21.6 mm3,and 2.6 mm3 respectively.These six parameters are the key effect parameters of the MHPCR fuel system which have significant effect on CFIQ.
