The consolidation process of nanocrystalline W and clad W-(15-50%)Cu powders in hot conditions under shock wave loading was studied. The temperature at loading was changed from 20-1,200℃ and loading intensity was varied up to 10 GPa. The investigation showed that use of Cu-clad W precursors in Shockwave consolidation has a tendency to decrease the stress value (not significant in terms of intensity) along with an increase of Cu concentration in the consolidated particles. Use of high temperatures to consolidate W and W-Cu powders in two stages (first- at room temperature, second- at elevated temperature) enabled compaction to near theoretical densities with high hardness value. The density and hardness depend on loading temperature and Cu content.
