Properties of Sintered Steels from Mixture of Alloyed and Non-Alloyed Iron Powders

Static and dynamic properties of sintered materials depend, in a large measure of intergrain neck material structure. This is, because the breaking starts from the level of structural defects and is developed from a pore to another pore through intergrain neck. That it why, it was considered by using of a mixture of iron powder and low and high alloyed iron powder, ca be obtained, at the intergrain bridge level, a structure, characterised by superior mechanical properties of iron. For this, there were obtained specimens, in the same conditions of compacting and sintering, of mixture of iron powder with alloyed iron powder, Distaloy SA and AE. A part of these specimens were superficial plastic deformed by rolling. Both rolled and non-rolled specimens were subjected to tensile test and to fatigue tests by symmetric alternate plane bending. Obtained results were analysed and compared for establishing of rolling influence and of added alloyed iron powder on mechanical properties of interred materials from iron powder.
