Planning – Baton Rouge, Louisiana Sanitary Sewer Overflow Program

The City of Baton Rouge, Parish of East Baton Rouge (C-P) entered into a ConsentrnDecree with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Staternof Louisiana in 2001 to take remedial actions in their collection system to reducernsanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) by 31 December 2014. In response to the ConsentrnDecree the C-P developed the Baton Rouge Sanitary Sewer Overflow (BTRSSO)rnProgram. The purpose of the BTRSSO Program is to reduce SSOs while planning forrnfuture flows.rnIn 2006, the C-P contracted with CH2M HILL to manage the BTRSSO Program.rnPlanning was necessary to meet the goals of the Consent Decree and the 2014rndeadline. CH2M HILL developed the Program Project Delivery Plan (PDP). ThernPDP provides a summary of the SSO and Wastewater Facilities Program. The threernparts of the program are: comprehensive rehabilitation projects; capacityrnimprovement projects; wastewater treatment and storage improvements.
