The paper analyzes single-phase-to-ground fault generated traveling waves in distribution system with neutral non-effectively grounded, discovers that the initial traveling waves is independent of neutral grounded way, and the initial traveling waves in the faulted line is much higher than the one in the sound lines as well as the reverse polarity. Based on above,three fault line selection principles and their wavelet algorithms are proposed. Simulation studies verified the analysis results and the fault line selection principles right.
