The membrane-surface liquid culture with nonwoven fabric (MSLC-NF) was developed in order to produce effectively laccase from Coriolus versicolor IFO4937 and to apply to the bioremediation of environmental pollutants. In the batchwise production of laccase using MSLC-NF as the naringin was added as an inducer, the cell was well growth on the nonwoven fabric and the amount production of laccase was as the same as that by the normal surface culture. In the continuous production of laccase using MSLC-NF by supplying the fresh medium at a dilution rate of 0.05-0.10 h~(-1), laccase could be produced successively for 50 days. Further, when this system was applied to the continuous bioremediation of the wastewater contained 0.1-1.0 mM of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol, the pollutant in the wastewater was almost completely degraded for 50 days.
