Initial startup of metropolitan's ozone/peroxone demonstration project

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California will soon begin operating a 5.5-MGD demonstration-scale lant to evaluate ozone and hydrogen peroxide/ozone (PEROXONE) for their suitability in enabling Metropolitan's full-scale facilities to comply with future disinfection by-product and disinfection regulations. This paper describes the design features of the demonstration plant, presents an overview of the experimental plan, and discusses plans for plant startup and initial operations.
