Alliance Contracting Strategy – One of the Key Successes for One Company’s Gulf of Mexico Deepwater Subsea Systems

The challenges to Shell’s Gulf of Mexico deepwater subsearnproduction systems in the mid-90s prompted thernimplementation of a contracting strategy to facilitaternstandardization, learning and continuous improvement. Thisrnpaper discusses the incorporation of these principles in anrnalliance contracting approach deployed in the execution ofrnsubsea projects and the results achieved to date.
