PROFESSIONALLY IMPORTANT PERSONALITY TRAITS AND PSYCHO-PHYSIOLOGICAL CONDITIONS RELATED TO EFFICIENCY OF ACTIVITIES FACTORS OF SHIP OPERATORS

In this article we describe a method for studying various personality characteristics within the framework of Activity Theory. This study examines psychological features of personality and psychophysiological states of military ship operators who work in computerised ship control systems. Psychophysiological states of operators were examined with multiple methods that include combination of expert evaluation and experimental methods. The latter include measurement of biologically active points of the skin (BAPs), neurophysiological features of personality, the study emotional stability, characteristics of psychological processes, etc. These studies resulted in recommendations for predicting the efficiency of operators in enclosed, computerised ship control environment.
