In this paper, cationic polyurethane has been synthesized from Polyol, Diphenylmethane diisoccyanate, and N-methyl diethanolamine with Methacrylic acid as neutralize agent. Methyl methacrylate (MMA) is both the solvent for synthesis of polyurethane and the monomer for preparation of polyurethane/polyacrylate composite emulsions. The cationic PU dispersions were further initiated by AIBN, KPS and AIBN+KPS to form emulsion particles with different shell-core structures. The morphological structures of the composite emulsions have been characterized by TEM observation and particle size analysis.
