Water or moisture intrusion into avionics bays has become a major concern in the aviationrnindustry with the increased reliance on high-tech electronic equipments in the aircraft. In recentrnyears there had been several high profile airline operational incidents related to this problemrnworldwide. Rainwater has been identified as a major source of water intrusion during wetrnseasons. Notably typhoons Hagupit (in Yr08 which flooded Lantau HK) and Toraji (in Yr09rnwhich affected Taiwan Central) brought record breaking levels of rainfall to the Asia Pacificrnregions, changes possibly due to the global warming effect.
