Abstract: In the last few years we have shown that neutron pulses can be caught in between perfect crystal plates where they have been reflected back and forth up to 78 times. The quality factor of such device strongly depends on the reflectivity of the crystals and the neutron guide placed in between the crystal plates, as well as on the adjustment and stability of the set-up. The storage of more than one neutron pulse and a significant improvement of the present storage capability seems to be possible. Various novel beam tailoring methods and advanced phase space transformations can be envisaged. The question whether the back and forth motion is a coherent or incoherent process will be discussed as well as possible electromagnetic interactions during this motion.!8
