DSMC - A Stochastic Algorithm for Granular Matter

We explain the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method and some of its limitations and improvements. The suitability for a parallel implementation is demonstrated, and simulations of the clustering insta-bility are presented to show how the method can be applied to granular systems.
