The photoelectrochemical behavior of chlorophyll a species P740 (polymerized water adduct of chlorophyll a, absorbing at 740nm) was investigated using chlorophyll a thin films, electrodeposited on both SnO_2 and snO_2/TiO_2 electrodes. The photocurrent action spectra of chlorophyll a in electrochemial devices are used to explain the chlorophyll a behavior in the process of charge generation under illumination and in the transfer of electrons. The use of nanoparticle-coated electrodes is promising for the building of efficient devices for light conversion, based on chlorophyll a.
