NBC medical planning system (NBCMedPlanS)

Guidance for medical support planning for multinational forces has been provided in the recent past by the NATO Military Committee and by SHAPE. SHAPE has also provided a computer-based planning tool. However, no specific guidance for medical support planning in NBC scenarios has yet been provided. For this reason, the German Armed Forces Medical Service started work in 1994 on a computer-based planning tool for NBC scenarios. This tool is known as the NBC Medical Planning System. This article provides an overview of the underlying approach, policies, parameters and data base of this tool.
