Transport of reactants in porous polyolefin particles is important both in polymerization reactors and in degassing units where the unreacted volatile species have to be removed from freshly produced powder. Degassing characteristics of polyolefin powders at various conditions were determined gravimetrically and were used for estimation of effective transport properties. We also attempt to use the results of degassing measurements for estimation of geometrical parameters of the model of porous polyolefin particle considering two characteristic diffusion lengths: (ⅰ) in the pore phase and (ⅱ) in the polymer phase.
