摘要

In this paper an original approach to modularity design of parallel kinematics machine tools has been presented. The following items have been described: the characteristic features of modularity in such machines, specific difficulties arising whilst the design process and general characteristics of hexapod type machines. Design methodology that joins together different design methods for designing a product that meets customer's expectations has been described in the second part of the paper.
