The effect of the loading concentration of metallic Ag nanoparticles on the morphology, particle size, and photocatalytic activity of Ag-TiO_2 films synthesized by one-step gas-phase deposition was investigated. After annealing at 500 °C, the morphology of the Ag-TiO_2 films significantly changed with varying concentrations of Ag. Highly dispersed Ag nanoparticles were observed in the Ag-TiO_2 nanocomposite films. The GMD of the TiO_2 nanoparticles in the films became larger as the Ag concentration increased, especially above 2.2 wt%. Evaluation of the photocatalytic activity based on the degradation of MB demonstrated that an Ag concentration of 2.2 wt% yielded the highest photocatalytic activity, which was 5.5 times higher than that of the pristine TiO_2 film.
