The Dual Active Bridge converter is an isolated bidirectional DC-DC Converter in which the phase shifting modulation techniques are applied to control the power flow and the voltage. In this paper, the author has compared the three phase-shifting techniques which are single, dual and triple-phase shift based on the current stress through the inductor which is also the transformer current. The simple closed-loop control logic is applied for the PI controller to regulate the output voltage is used taking a single mode of operation. The simulation results obtained show that the triple-phase shift modulation technique leads to the lesser current through the inductor while the single-phase shift technique has the higher current keeping the parameters of the overall circuit same.
