Common Law Safety Case Approaches to Safety Critical Systems Assurance

Robinson and Anderson (200S) outline seven different risk paradigms in support of the Rule of Law tests of causation, foreseeability, preventability and reasonableness. This paper describes the application of the "top down" paradigm using an example set on an offshore platform.
