摘要

Satellite-based surveillance and communication technologies (e.g., Automatic Dependent Surveillance (ADS)-Contract and Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications) have been introduced to improve the efficiency and safety of flight operations in oceanic airspace. We presented two new procedures that can be enabled by these technologies. The first one is allowing Mach number adjustments to improve fuel and time efficiency, and the second one is reducing lateral and longitudinal separation minima. We evaluated the benefits of the two procedures for flight operation within the Pacific oceanic airspace managed by the United States using simulation. We conclude that the two procedures can reduce the workload for air traffic controllers as well as fuel consumption and travel time for airlines.
