PP-PS Stereotomography : application to theisotropic Valhall synthetic dataset

We present the application of 2D PP-PS Stereotomography to the 2D OBC isotropic Valhall synthetic datasetbuilt by bp from the real Valhall field. The synthetic model exhibits structurally simple layers but contains gaslayers providing a serious gas cloud problem when imaging from PP reflected arrivals. On the real dataset bestpublished images were obtained using CCP binning and it was an excellent opportunity for testing PP-PSStereotomography. We show that good stereotomographic results can be obtained using a semi-automaticapproach. The stereotomographic picks resulting from an automatic picking are selected according to their slopein CIGs. In this gas cloud context, the application of PP Stereotomography revealed to be much more difficultthan PS Stereotomography, but even so, good results can be obtained.
