COST EFFICIENT LED HEADLAMP SOLUTION REPLACING HALOGEN BULB TECHNOLOGY

摘要

The technical advancement in front lighting solution to realize innovative styling intension and better illuminating performance in night driving has been achieved recently by introducing LED technology and still in progress. However, LED solution for front lighting, especially low and high beam function, has been more dedicated for higher trim level vehicle only because of expensive system cost including LED Driver module, LED light source with cooling and complicated optical system so far. New Renault Samsung's approach to modular design for LED front lighting concept to replace bulb solution with LED, especially standardized LED driving module and LED light source unite makes it different and raise cost competitiveness of Renault Samsung in the automotive lighting business and it will be extended up to most of the ranges of vehicle in near future even low price vehicle which has used only traditional bulb solution. This study proposes more realistic way of cost efficient LED headlamp application under limited system price and compromised optical performance on the road.
