Partners' Selection for Engineering Project Based on VIKOR Method

Partnership and partners’ selection play a key role for huge engineering project management. Partnership is a popular construction-management approach among some developed countries and regions in recent years. This paper constructs a partners’ selection index system for core construction enterprises. The index system can reflect the cooperative success of potential cooperative partners from different perspectives. A new compromise ranking method-VIKOR method for partners’ selection is presented. The VIKOR method of compromise ranking determines a compromise solution, and provides a maximum ‘‘group utility’’ for the “majority’’ and a minimum of an individual regret for the ‘‘opponent’’. Compared with present decision methods, the advantage of VIKOR method can reflect the attitude of decision-makers by adjusting utility weight v effectively.
