Excitation of GAP: Cr coatings is viable for blue LED. Also, for green laser diode excitation. Measurements are possible up to around 900°C depending on the optical arrangement. Whereas improvements could be realized by increasing laser output, a factor on ten is feasible and designing better collection efficiency, the blackbody background and rapid signal decrease render 900°C as a working upper limit for these situations.
