A new albedometer based on solar cells

摘要

A complete portable albedometer set is highlighted in this paper. The system is based on two small size c-Si PV cells placed in a back to back configuration such as to reduce significantly the influence of unwanted factors such as shadowing effect, high time constant to get the proper measurement, cost issues etc. There is developed a theoretical analysis on the corrections to be introduced and the errors in the estimation of the albedo value. Results are discussed over a set of materials examined under various conditions mainly with regard to the solar position in the sky.
