This study attempts to find a preliminary result impact of gender on college admission using Brunswik’s Lens Model in three phases: identifying the cues used in the process, analyzing existing data, and investigating the impact of gender. Six cues were considered: resident status, school ranking, GPA, SAT/ACT score, state requirement, and gender but 5 cues excluding state requirement, were used to capture the enrollment officers’ judgment policies in an experiment to investigate the impact of gender in college admission for engineering. The officers were presented with the existing data without the gender and asked to make dichotomous judgments.
