On January 13, 2014, the Department of Water Resources reduced from five percent to zero the anticipated allocation of water to customers of the State Water Project (SWP). In a normal year, Zone 7 Water Agency (DSRSD’s wholesale source of water) relies on the SWP for 80 percent of its water and on the underground aquifer and local watershed for the remaining 20 percent.
