Technical diagnostics methods are used to recognize the state of technical systems. Integrated diagnostics allows you to identify incomplete subsystems and components during ordinary operation of mobile power plants. However, it is not possible to identify the cause of the loss of performance or identify a faulty element using this method. This problem is successfully solved by methods of differential diagnostics. It seems appropriate to consider the method of differential diagnostics of power plants on the example of the compression-vacuum method, which allows us to determine the state of the most important components of a diesel engine: the cylinder-piston group and the gas distribution mechanism. The method and means of implementation are combined into common system diagnostics, which includes a diagnostic methodology and uses a complex of methods and means differentiated by levels to obtain the maximum possible amount of information with the minimum possible labor and material costs.
