Energy Efficiency Increasing for the Power Transformer by means of the Liquid Heating Unit

Despite the high energy convention efficiency of power transformers, there are significant amounts of power losses that heat radiates uselessly into the ambient air. We suggest using the power transformer with the liquid heating unit not only as a source of electric power but also as a source of thermal energy by applying its losses for heat-supply facilities with no central heating. We also suggest the construction of a power transformer that has one extra single winding in addition to the primary and secondary windings that is a part of the heating unit for the heat transfer agent. We designed the thermal replacing circuit and its mathematical model to prove the possibility of the heating unit use for the step-down power transformer. The liquid heating unit allows one to use about 50% of idling and short-circuit losses and get useful effect. That definitely will increase a general efficiency of the transformer. The heat losses can be used for heating remote transformer substation, control stations or manufacturing facilities which don't have a central heating system.
